In Search Of...

These images are approximate representations of the items I'm looking for. I'm also looking for bargains. Remember, this is all to be done on a fixed income. Also note, my house is small, so the furniture can't be too big; it has to fit in small rooms. I will post more in-search-of items as my house project continues, so check every now and then.

I have some MCM items I don't need and will be looking to sell or trade them. I'll soon have another page showing these items, with information about how to purchase or trade for them. I likely won't have enough time or merchandise to start an etsy store, so I will probably list the items on MCM buy/sell/trade groups on Facebook, or the old standby, ebay.

If you know of a bargain, please email me at

Living room table set -- two end tables (step tables, but they don't have to have drawers like these); a corner table with a triangular step; and a coffee table. Prefer rectangular to round.

A couple of orange MCM upholstered accent chair, or the living room.
Atomic lamps -- set of two for living room end tables. They don't have to look exactly like this; I just want something ceramic, more or less cone-shaped, with two-tiered fiberglass shades.
Groovy wall clocks -- two or three, for different rooms.

Atomic drapes, for living room and dining room windows. (Will get around to posting dimension needed ... sooner or later.)
A kinetic mobile (for indoors) and vintage wind chimes (for patio).

A vintage console stereo with turntable and radio, from either the 50s, 60s, or  70s.

A cool pole lamp.

A Curtis Jere-esque metal wall sculpture.
Paint by numbers paintings -- the flamingo and snowy egret set. Doesn't have to be actual paintings. If you know of prints made from the originals, or even some good jpgs online that can be printed (and matted and framed) that will do, too. It's the look I'm after, not necessarily authenticity.
A reasonably priced, retractable or "pull down" ceiling light. (The prices on some of these things on ebay will give you a heart attack.)

Vintage electric can opener. We have one like the one depicted in the inset. I hate it. It's the worse can opener we've ever had. I've learned that vintage items often work better and last longer than contemporary items.

Vintage "Lincoln Beauty- ware" chrome breadbox, to match the canisters and wrap dispenser I already have.

A serving cart. A tea cart with glass shelves, or"woven" metal shelves like the top one would be my first choice, but a Costco style cart would work, too. If they need sanding and painting, no problem. If I get one with solid shelves that are to be repainted, they will be done in a darkish olive green with a gold starburst in the corner. (Thanks to the unknown person on one of my MCM forums who posted a pic of the one she did, and inspired me.)
